Skagit Valley Tulip Festival

We spent today wandering through the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. It was so beautiful - I've never seen anything quite like it. Fields and fields filled with thousands of tulips. All colors of the rainbow and more styles than I ever knew existed.

We took tons of pictures, although I only uploaded a few- here. They give a great idea of just how vibrant everything was. It helped that it was a wonderfully sunny day - perfect to wander around through fields of flowers.

It was extremely muddy, and I felt sorry for the (mostly women) folks who didn't seem to take into account that tulips grow outside - in fields. More than a few were wearing nice slacks, sandals or heels. In mud. Lots and lots of mud.

At the end of the day, being walked out and hungry, we headed to the Kiwanis Club Salmon BBQ. A delicious meal (although not as good as Dan makes) of smoked salmon, baked potato, coleslaw, garlic bread and ice cream was a perfect way to end the day.
